4-car crash on Route 17 ties traffic up for miles
Motorists in Bergen County had to battle bumper-to-bumper traffic Sunday after a four-car pile-up closed Route 17 in both directions for several hours.
Authorities closed Route 17 between Lake Street and East Allendale as a result of the crash. Traffic was backed up for miles due to the closure.
Witnesses say the accident sounded like an earthquake and are calling it a miracle nobody was killed. Two people were injured in the crash, however, and taken to the hospital.
The crash also took out a number of utility poles. Power to several businesses along Route 7 was knocked out as a result
