Investigators: Mother left children home alone

Investigators say three children were left home alone in a hot apartment Sunday morning.

The children, two boys and a 5-month-old girl, were found about 2:20 a.m. after a neighbor called authorities to complain.

The mother, whose name is being withheld by police because she has not been charged, claims she hired a babysitter to watch the children while she went out.

Investigators say the children were hot but in otherwise good condition and are being held by the state?s Division of Youth and Family Services.
