Sign aims to sway residents below the Mason-Dixon
A billboard along the New Jersey Turnpike is attempting to lure residents out of state.
The billboard is along northbound lanes between exits 15 and 16. It encourages fed up taxpayers to enjoy cheaper living down south.
The sign recommends moving to Myrtle Beach, S.C. The billboard includes a link to the Web site, www.iwantoutofNJ.com, a site for a residential development in the resort city.
Many residents reached by News 12 New Jersey said they'd at least consider leaving the Garden State for good.
"Taxes are high," said Brian Reitz, of North Plainfield. "It's pretty congested. I'd rather live somewhere more quiet."
