N.J. residents take in first day of summer

New Jersey residents dove into the first day of summer Saturday.

"I really like the first day of summer because we are out of school. We get to play with the sprinklers,? says Emari Ward, of Jersey City. Ward went to McGovern Park to cool off.

In Leonia, people celebrated the first full day of summer out on the diamond.

?It is the national past time, Leonians love baseball. This field is going to be used all day long so we are kicking summer off in a real big way,? says Michael D'Angelo, of Leonia.

At Liberty State Park, there were birthday parties, cookouts and little kite fliers.

The summer has just begun, and New Jersey residents say fresh barbecue and lots of sun is what?s in store.
