Racially charged pictures drown UMDNJ in scandal
UMDNJ in Newark has become swamped in controversy after pictures surfaced on the Internet showing two EMS trainees allegedly forced to dress up like Ku Klux Klan members.
The snapshots of the alleged hazing were posted on NJ.com Friday. They show two trainees dressed in Ku Klux Klan style sheets holding a cross while a paramedic adjusts the hoods.
Three paramedics, including the one featured in the picture, have been fired as a result of the ordeal.
The students are reportedly from Northeastern University and were at University Hospital for training to become certified paramedics.
People in Newark say they are sickened by the images.
