Some give Trenton's new school uniforms thumbs down

Trenton Public Schools? new uniform dress code for the fall is getting mixed reviews throughout the district.
?When the principal announced it, they were all upset,? seventh grader David Lopez says. ?They were all booing at the speakers, everything. It was chaos."
For the first time, public school students from kindergarten through eighth grade will have to wear uniforms that consist of a light blue shirt and either khaki pants or a skirt.
"It makes them feel like they are going to a private school, that they're part of something unique,? Assistant Superintendent David Weathington says. ?That Trenton Public Schools are going in a new direction."
Parents say the uniforms will make school life easier for the kids by cutting down on peer pressure.
Trenton High school students have another year until uniforms are mandated.
