Hundreds of New Jersey couples are slated to tie the knot Friday on the hopefully lucky date of August 8, 2008.
Soon-to-be newlyweds Jean Marie Devoe and Sean Hall have known each other more than 25 years and say they needed a special wedding date.
"In numerology, when you're looking at it and you add up the date 8, 8, 2008 ? it turns out to be 8," says the bride-to-be. "And when you turn the eight sideways, it's the infinity symbol."
According to vendors, the date was extremely popular and needed to be booked far in advance. Jeremy Grove of the Bethwood in Totowa has six weddings booked Friday.
"I'd say 50 to 60 brides probably looking for the date," says Grove. "We sold out quite a while ago."
