Perth Amboy officer killed in crash laid to rest

(AP) - Police officers joined family andfriends Monday in honoring a Perth Amboy patrolman killed in theline of duty. Officer Thomas Raji was transporting a prisoner to the MiddlesexCounty Jail when his patrol car collided with another vehicleFriday. The prisoner and another patrolman were injured. There's a traffic light at the intersection and authorities havenot determined which vehicle had the right of way. Raji joined the police department in 1999. The 31-year-old isthe first Perth Amboy police officer to lose his life in the lineof duty. Raji's wife of three years, Marisol, is also a Perth Amboyofficer and is pregnant with their first child.
