Storm calms following flooding and beach erosion

A storm over New Jersey is expected to create a mess across the Garden State this weekend, including at local beaches.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for Bergen, Eastern Passaic, Essex, Hudson, Union and Western Passaic counties. An urban flood advisory is in effect for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Passaic and Union counties.
Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant was closed Friday morning due to flooding caused by a nearby lake overflowing. Early rain left parts of Keansburg underwater as well.
The storm is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds to the state throughout the weekend, though the rains and winds had calmed by early Friday afternoon.
