Police: NJ 'early-bird special burglar' caught
Police in Ocean County believe they have the New Jersey ?early-bird special burglar? behind bars after a long investigation.
James Eichele, 61, is behind bars Thursday in the Ocean County Jail on burglary charges. Police say he is the prime suspect in over 200 burglaries across the state.
Police from several communities began to pool all of their resources and information more than a year ago. A task force met Tuesday to build a case against Eichele. Police say they plan on releasing more details on Eichele?s arrest in a press conference Friday.
Eichele was dubbed the ?early-bird special burglar? because many of the break-ins occurred in retirement communities, while seniors were out having dinner. His bail is set at $250,000.
"Like they say, bad things always catch up to you sooner or later," says neighbor Frank Facciola.
