Body found near high school in Sayreville

Police in Middlesex County are investigating a body that was found in a pond near a high school in the Parlin section of Sayreville Friday.

Police say the body was first spotted by some students. The students use the parking lot at John F. Kennedy Memorial Park as an overflow lot for Sayreville War Memorial High School.

According to police, there are no visible signs of foul play on the middle-aged white man, who was found 15 feet from the edge of the pond. Authorities say the body could have been in the water for several days.

The body had identification on it, but police are not releasing the man?s name until relatives can identify the victim.
