Vandals hit Trenton YWCA, make off with 6 computers
Thieves made off with tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment after striking a century-old YWCA center in Trenton.
The break-in was first discovered Monday morning.
"Teddy bears without heads on them, and toys and books on the floor," says YWCA director Jose Hernandez. "It was heartbreaking."
The culprits trashed the place before taking six computers. A children's after-school playroom was ransacked, and fire extinguishers were sprayed all over the first floor.
Authorities believe several people are behind the vandalism and theft. Anyone with information is being asked to call the Trenton Police Department tipline at 609-989-4155 or Detective Christopher Kurfuss at 609-989-4155.
Hernandez says the YWCA has been serving the community for more than 100 years, and its connection to Trenton is evident by the volunteers helping it pick up the pieces.YWCA Trenton
