Elderly woman's home sold from under her feet

An elderly Newark woman is fighting to keep her home after it was allegedly sold without her knowledge.
Mary McCutchen lives on South 12th Street in a house that has been in her family for the past 50 years.
But at 84, McCutchen says she struggled to keep up with the home's maintenance, including her financial duties. As a result, McCutchen decided to give power of attorney over her finances to her grandson. According to McCutchen's lawyer, the grandson then used the power of attorney to sell the house from under his grandmother's feet. McCutchen says she didn't know anything about it until a woman came to the front door and told her to leave, claiming she had bought the house.
McCutchen then got a lawyer and a reverse mortgage broker who took the case to court. The lawyer and broker say they believe McCutchen will be able to keep her home.
McCutchen's grandson says he also didn't know he was selling the house. He claims he was scammed into signing away the title.
