Pregnant teen killed in Summit crash

A brutal car crash claimed the life of a pregnant teenager from New Providence Sunday.

Julia Ghiretti, 19, died after a car driven by Rodney Jefferson, her boyfriend and the father of her child, crashed in a violent explosion. Jefferson allegedly lost control of the car after speeding off from a routine traffic stop.

Jefferson faces vehicular homicide and other charges. Police say he was driving upwards of 90 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Ghiretti was four months pregnant at the time of her death.
