Republican Leonard Lance victorious over Stender

In what is shaping up to be a big night for the Democratic party, Republican Leonard Lance was able to win and keep the 7th Congressional District under his party?s control.

Lance, 56, defeated Linda Stender and independent Michael Hsing to win the open seat. The district includes parts of Hunterdon, Somerset, Union and Middlesex counties.

Incumbent Republican Mike Ferguson did not seek re-election.
