Thieves steal grave decorations, devastate family
A Bloomfield family was devastated to find a homemade grave blanket stolen from its family plot last Saturday from Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair.
Nancy Rosetti, who has been honoring her deceased family members with holiday blankets for the last 13 years, was shocked to find this year?s honorary decorations missing from the headstones of her loved ones.
Rosetti left the decorative cross, adorned with flowers, cherubs and beading on Nov. 22. When her father, Thomas Abdenschoen, visited his wife?s grave on Nov. 29, the grave blanket was missing.
"It has to be for money,? Abdenschoen says. ?They have no religion. That's all I can say. They have no respect for the dead."
According to the family members, the cemetery officials were stunned to hear about the robbery.
