NJ student stuck in Chile talks to 12
Zachary Kessler, a 16-year-old from Livingston had only been in Chile a few days when the 8.8 magnitude earthquake hit. Kessler is in Chile for an exchange program. Luckily, he was unharmed by the earthquake, and his host family's house still stands.
Kessler spoke to News 12 New Jersey about what the earthquake was like for him. Even though Kessler's host family lives in the small Chilean town of Los Angeles, a distance from the center of the earthquake in Concepcion, they were still able to feel the earthquake and it's many aftershocks.
Kessler plans on returning home in a few weeks.
