Potholes continue to create bumps in the road

News 12 New Jersey recently spoke with motorists driving along Ferry Street in Newark about the pothole situation.

The drivers said that it was like an obstacle course to drive on the street, one of the busiest in Essex County. Some of the roadway had been worn down to its original cobblestones.

Residents said that they had been complaining about the roadway for years. News 12 New Jersey took the complaints to the head of Newark's Engineering Department, who promised a quick response, and it delivered.

On Thursday afternoon, News 12 New Jersey got Chopper 12 footage of Ferry Street being patched up.
