Source: Christie could ax property tax rebates

A source says Gov. Chris Christie is considering cutting property tax rebates to balance the budget.

The governor's administration will not publicly address the issue. Christie had said he wouldn't consider cutting the rebates during the run-up to his election.

Democrats accuse Gov. Christie of going back on his word.

"We all remember candidate Christie talking about how he was not going to touch the rebates," says Assemblyman John Wisniewski, the New Jersey Democratic chairman. "Now we see Gov. Christie having an entirely different viewpoint."
