Thousands join Lautenberg at Hoboken parade

Hoboken hosted one of New Jersey's largest St. Patrick's Day celebrations Saturday with a parade down Washington Street.

Sen. Frank Lautenberg made his first public appearance since leaving the hospital to join the thousands of residents and visitors who lined the streets. Those in attendance say the warm weather was the perfect backdrop to the event and a much-needed reminder that spring is around the corner.

For the first time, the City of Hoboken is asking bar owners for help paying police officers' overtime during the weekend festivities. Most bars opened at 9 a.m. Saturday and will remain open late.
