The driver of a Jitney bus who was shot by a passenger in Jersey City is now paralyzed.

Umberto, who asked News 12 New Jersey not to use his last name, says he was driving his bus route and became uncomfortable with the last passenger on board. He asked the passenger to get off the bus.

It was then that the passenger pulled out a gun. Umberto says he tried to get away, but was shot in the back. Police say the gunman then got behind the wheel and drove over Umberto.

Police are still searching for the gunman.
