Wind-swept fire destroys several NJ homes

A well-known Victorian bed and breakfast and several other Ocean Grove homes burned to the ground Saturday morning.

Fire officials say The Manchester Inn caught fire at around 5 a.m. and the strong winds spread the flames to at least seven neighboring homes. Firefighters say the winds made the fire more difficult to control, but the heavy rain helped to extinguish some flames.

A firefighter and a first aid squad member sustained minor injuries in the blaze. Officials say all residents were safely evacuated.
