NJ band raises money for food banks

New Jersey music group Kindred Souls will stage a 21-county diner tour this weekend to raise money for the NJ Federation of Food Banks.

The group aims to raise $5,250 in 48 hours which would buy 21,000 pounds of food.

The band will start the tour Friday evening and play through Sunday evening.

The group says food banks around the Garden State are in need of help because of rising needs and declines in donations due to the bad economy.
