2nd former Seton Hall player pleads not guilty
(AP) - A second former Seton Hall basketball player has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from an armed robbery in northern New Jersey.
Kelly Whitney's lawyer entered the plea to robbery, kidnappingand weapons charges. Ronald Ricci says his client is adamant thathe was not involved in the March 15 heist.
Prosecutors say Whitney acted as an accomplice with former SetonHall forward Robert Mitchell.
Mitchell pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges of robbing eightpeople at gunpoint in a South Orange home.
The 23-year-old was kicked off the team March 14.
Whitney is held on $650,000 bail. The Chicago native was astandout for the Pirates through the 2006 season.
