Lakewood EMS gets new offer to stay intact

Lakewood Township has made another offer to keep the EMS department intact.

The township has been considering disbanding the EMS due to a budget shortfall. The latest offer includes a 30 percent pay cut.

There is no word on if EMS union officials will accept the offer. If it's rejected, the department will be privatized to save money.

A vote on the department's future is set for Thursday.
