Cuts loom for Freehold Regional H.S. District
The Freehold Regional High School District may be forced to cut 81 positions.
The Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education says that it will be forced to cut 81 positions due to a potential $8.6 million cut in state aid. Adult and summer classes will also have to be eliminated.
The Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District will also have to make cuts. The board has approved 26 layoffs. Layoffs include Spanish and Special Ed teachers and as well as the assistant principal position. Even after the cuts, the district will be short about $3 million. Tax payers may have to absorb the burden.
