Rutgers students upset over school song
Students at Rutgers University in New Brunswick argue that the school's anthem is gendered.
Students say the first two lines of the song, "My father sent me to old Rutgers, and resolved that I should be a man," are offensive to the female students.
Jennifer Kanyamibwa, president of the Douglas College Student Governing Council says, "the alma mater is gendered, it excludes a lot of the women who go to this university."
University officials have met with members of the council to discuss the issue, but have discussed it publicly.
