Recent college grad fatally shot in NJ home

A young woman was killed inside her family's Hopatcong home Saturday night, police say.

According to authorities, Alyssa Ruggieri was shot multiple times by a man who may have been her friend or former boyfriend. Officers arrested 24-year-old Giuseppe Tedesco, who is also of Hopatcong, in the shooting.

Neighbors say Ruggieri, who was in her early 20s, recently graduated from college and while she was away, her father often talked about missing her.

Police say Tedesco is currently in the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the hand. Authorities are unsure how Tedesco was injured. He is being held on $1 million bail.
