Former NJ students to play game 21 years later

The "greatest game never played" will finally have its day when teams from the Delbarton School and St. Joseph Regional High School meet on the ice this weekend.

Back in 1989, students from the two schools were set to face off for the state hockey championship. A measles outbreak at Delbarton forced the game to be delayed and eventually canceled. The two teams were declared co-champions by state officials.

The players will have an opportunity to settle the score April 3 at the Mennen Arena in Morristown.

The former students will be raising money for various charities and their respective high schools.
