Charges may be filed against Newark officer

A Newark police officer involved in a scuffle with a teen could face charges.

The altercation was captured on video by a security camera. Newark Police Director Garry McCarthy says an investigation is being conducted and confirms criminal charges are a possibility.

Travis Rattray, 15, suffered cuts and bruises in the altercation. He is also missing a patch of hair.

Community activists are planning to rally on the teen's behalf Thursday afternoon outside his family's apartment in Newark.
