Auto body shop goes up in flames in Passaic

Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze early Thursday morning in Passaic.

The fire started just before 6:00 a.m. in an auto body shop on Burgess Place.

Tenants in a building adjacent to the shop were temporarily evacuated. The tenants were allowed to return to their homes after the fire was placed under control.

Passaic Fire Department officials say one firefighter was taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center for a minor neck injury sustained while fighting the blaze.

No information has been made available regarding the cause of the blaze.
