Police ID body parts found in trash bags

Police identified Tuesday the two people whose body parts were found stuffed inside garbage bags in Linden.

Authorities are withholding the victims' names pending the notification of their families.

Union County Prosecutor Theodore Romankow said that an autopsy showed one of the victims was a Hispanic male between 30 and 35 years old. Romankow also believes the crime was committed elsewhere and the bodies were dumped in Linden.

Police and public works employees made the discovery Monday afternoon on Cranford Avenue following a neighbor's complaint that the garbage bags were illegally dumped.
