Roosevelt residents feel overlooked by census
Roosevelt residents have yet to be counted in the 2010 Census because forms were not mailed to their P.O. boxes.
The Monmouth County municipality does not have door-to-door mail service, so all residents rely on their P.O. boxes for correspondence. The U.S. Census Bureau says Roosevelt is not being overlooked, but residents must wait to receive their forms in a second mailing next week.
Louis Esakoff, who lives in Roosevelt, says not receiving the forms makes him feel disenfranchised.
"It's like voting and we're not getting a chance to do it," Esakoff says.
