3 arrests made in Jersey City killings

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office says three arrests have been made in the Easter Sunday killings of Michael Muchiaki and his fiancée, Nia Haqq.

The arrests were made the same day that one of the two victims was laid to rest.

Darmelia Lawrence, 19, and Latonia Bellamy, 19, both of Jersey City, were charged with murder, armed robbery and weapons charges. Shiquan Bellamy, 19, also of Jersey City was arrested and charged with murder.

Muchiaki, 27, and Haqq, 25, were both shot twice in the head while returning to their Jersey City home. The pair had just left their engagement party in New Brunswick. Authorities say the couple was killed following an apparent botched carjacking.

Authorities say they are continuing to investigate the case.
