Asbury Park schools facing deep cuts

The Asbury Park School District is facing sweeping job losses in the wake of budget cuts.

According to Asbury Park Business Administrator Corey Lowell, at least 60 teaching and support staff positions are on the chopping block.

A budget of $74.8 million for the upcoming fiscal year has been approved by the Board of Education, nearly $5 million less than last year.

Voters will be asked to approve the budget on April 20.
