The Department of Defense announced Tuesday that 23-year-old Army Cpl. Michael D. Jankiewicz died Friday when his CV-22 Osprey aircraft crashed during a combat operation in Zabul Province.

A procession for Jankiewicz on East Main Street was held today. A reverse 911 call was recorded by Ramsey Mayor Christopher Botta urging residents to bid a final farewell to the fallen soldier.

Services for Jankiewicz will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 18 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Ramsey. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
