School budgets, elections head to voters
Polls for school elections and budget approvals will open tomorrow around the Garden State.
This year's election is getting more attention that most due to an ongoing feud between Gov. Chris Christie and the New Jersey teachers association, NJEA.
Most districts will call for tax increases and teacher layoffs in the wake of cuts handed down by Gov. Chris Christie.
Christie urged voters to reject the budget proposals in districts where teachers refused to accept a one-year pay freeze.
Voters in some districts will also be able to elect school board members.
