Gov. Christie's payroll higher than Gov. Corzine's

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) is spending more on salaries than former Gov. Jon Corzine did.

According to a review by the Associated Press, Christie is spending $8.9 million on salaries, $2 million more than Corzine did. The AP says that Gov. Christie has 34 employees making six figures, twice as many as former Gov. Corzine did.

Kane in Your Corner found that the analysis is a little misleading. If people assigned to Gov. Christie but paid by other departments are factored in, the discrepancy in numbers is less.

Even when those departments are factored in, Kane in Your Corner found that Gov. Christie is still spending $500,000 more than former Gov. Corzine.
