Man killed, woman injured in Hamilton shooting

Police are investigating the deadly shooting of a couple in Hamilton this morning.

Authorities say the couple was shot while sitting in an SUV parked on Parkinson Avenue around 5:00 a.m.

Laughfiel "Nick" Nicholson, 47, was pronounced dead at Capital Health Systems Hospital. Joanne Nicholson, 45, underwent surgery at Capital Health Systems Hospital. Information regarding her condition was not made available. Both were corrections officers at Trenton State Prison.

Police are searching for 60-year-old Ralph Johnson as a suspect in the shooting. Joanne Nicholson and Johnson have a daughter together. Authorities say there has been an ongoing family dispute between the two.

New Jersey State Police, U.S. Marshals, the NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, Mercer County Prosecutor's Office and Sheriff's Office are all involved in the manhunt for Johnson.
