A massive sinkhole on Route 37 West in Toms River will take weeks to repair according to DOT officials.

The left and center lanes will remain closed as crews work to replace 280 feet of corroded pipe under the busy roadway.

Toms River Police Chief Michael G. Mastronardy said he initially hoped to repair the immediate damage related to the sinkhole, but later discovered the pipe needed to be replaced.
