Autopsy: Baby found near NJ river drowned

(AP) - Autopsy results show an infant whose body was found on the banks of a New Jersey river drowned.

Authorities are awaiting DNA tests to confirm the body is a 3-month-old girl whose father is accused of throwing the child off the Driscoll Bridge into the Raritan River more than two months ago.

State Police Sgt. Stephen Jones says officials believe the body is Zara Malani-Lin Abdur-Raheem because of clothing that was found with the infant on Saturday.

Prosecutors believe Shamsid-Din Abdur-Raheem killed his daughter hours after taking her from her grandmother's apartment in East Orange on Feb. 16.

The 21-year-old Galloway Township resident has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges.
