NJ scouts learn EMS skills

Boy Scouts from Monmouth and Ocean counties got a taste of how to work as first responders this weekend at a training center for emergency services.

?When they see it in person, they see it hands on,? says Anthony Marano, of the Jersey Shore Council Boy Scouts. ?That?s when they learn how to do it.?

Nearly 300 scouts and leaders will spend the night, and the event will bring in 500 scouts and leaders to learn how to hook up fire hoses, fly a chopper and be an emergency responder.
