President Obama cancels trip to New Jersey

(AP) - President Barack Obama's upcoming trip toNew Jersey has been canceled.

Obama was scheduled to talk about the economy when he visitedcentral New Jersey on Wednesday. But the White House announcedSunday afternoon that the trip would instead be rescheduled forsometime soon.

White House spokeswoman Moira Mack said the cancellation wasrelated to the ongoing major oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Obama toured that region Sunday, and Kelly said that officialsdecided to reschedule the New Jersey trip due to "continued closemonitoring of the oil spill response" and related issues.
