Former Gov. Jon Corzine cuts campaign contributions

(AP) - Former Gov. Jon Corzine has closed hischeckbook to New Jersey Democrats just months after losingre-election.

The Star-Ledger and The Record Statehouse Bureau finds Corzine'sfiancee and four multimillionaire former colleagues who worked withCorzine at Goldman Sachs have stopped donating.

Corzine also stopped contributions to candidates in 13congressional districts facing election in November.

Corzine spokesman Josh Zeitz says the former governor "hasn'ttaken his wallet and gone home." Zeitz says Corzine is checkingwhether pay-to-play orders he signed as governor pose a conflictwith his new role as CEO of the financial firm MF Global Holdings.

Records show Corzine gave nearly $7 million to the New JerseyDemocratic State Committee, legislative candidates and politicalaction committees from 1999 to 2009.
