Couple fights back intruder in Roselle

Police are looking for an armed suspect that allegedly forced his way into a home on Sheridan Avenue in Roselle last night.

Authorities say Adaelberto Jimenez was outside his Sheridan Avenue home when he was approached by a man dressed in black. The man demanded money from Jimenez and forced him into the home at gunpoint.

The intruder forced Jimenez to the ground and began to force his girlfriend, 27-year-old Laura Manganelli, out of the house.

He fired his gun five times as the couple fought him off.

Manganelli was hit three times. She was taken to University Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

Police are still searching for the gunman who fled the scene.
