Municipal races in Trenton headed to runoff

Trenton's mayoral election will be decided by a runoff vote.

Tony Mack, a former Mercer County freeholder, took the lead in Trenton's mayoral race, winning 21 percent of the vote.

Eric Jackson, the city's public works director, appeared to have claimed the runner-up spot by a narrow margin over Councilman Manuel Segura.

To win the election, a candidate needs to secure more than 50 percent of the votes.

If the lead holds, Jackson will face Mack in a runoff vote next month.

Provisional and absentee ballots will be counted before a second place finisher is named.
