Trenton school guards return to work after 'no-show'

School security guards are back to work in Trenton after taking the day off yesterday.

The guards staged a protest by calling out sick yesterday, forcing Trenton police to cover the posts.

The move came as the school district mulls layoffs as a solution to budget cuts.

School officials have also explored the possibility of outsourcing security jobs to a private firm.

The guards will reportedly meet soon to present their position in a public forum, according to a Trentonian report.
