Monmouth Park looks to raise revenue by reducing race days

Monmouth Park is reducing its number of race days in hopes of seeing an increase in attendance and revenue.

The park says it is scheduling only 50 days of racing this season. The park usually has more than 100 race days. Due to the change, more than $1 million will be up for grabs each race day, which is the highest pot in the country.

Monmouth Park, as well as the Meadowlands, have been losing millions of dollars in recent years due to competition from across state lines.
