$1M bail for Butler mom charged in husband's killing

Bail has been set at $1 million for a mother of three accused of fatally shooting her husband inside their Butler home.

According to a statement released by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, 44-year-old Amalia Mirasola has been charged with homicide and a weapons offense.

Police found the woman's husband, 43-year-old Carl Mirasola, with multiple gunshot wounds in a bedroom at their Butler home on Saturday. Police say their three children, a 13-year-old girl and twin 7-year-old boys, were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

Amalia Mirasola, who has multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchair, remained in the county jail yesterday afternoon. Her lawyer, Robert Stack, has said she has no memory of what happened inside the home.

Relatives say the couple was planning to end their 19-year-marriage.
