Sister of murder suspect discusses alleged crime

The sister of a wheelchair bound woman who is accused of killing her husband spoke to News 12 New Jersey.

Edna Gonzalez says her sister, Amalia Mirasola, would never kill her husband. Mirasola was arrested over the weekend for allegedly shooting her husband to death while their 13-year-old and 7-year-old twins were asleep.

Gonzalez says Mirasola suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and since her diagnosis, her husband, Carl, had mistreated her. She says Mirasola endured years of physical and mental abuse and was often left home alone.

Due to her condition, Mirasola is expected to appear in court via teleconference today.
